Discussion Forum on the Role of Higher Education Teaching and Public Engagement in Addressing the Climate Emergency

These videos were recorded at an event which took place at the University of Bristol in January 2020. The aim of the event was to discuss the role of Higher Education teaching and public engagement in addressing the climate emergency. The event took place alongside TESF’s Network Plus launch.

This was an opportunity to further the thinking about Bristol University’s response to the climate emergency by learning from TESF partners in South Africa, the Netherlands, Nigeria and Sweden, as well as from other projects in the Bristol University’s School of Education.   

Presentations included topics such as How to Live on a Lively Planet (University of Uppsala), T-Learning (University of Rhodes, South Africa), Teaching for Climate Change (University of Witwatersrand, South Africa), Disruptive Capacity Building and Societal Transformation (University of Wageningen, Netherlands), University and Civil Society Partnership (Rivers State University, Nigeria), Engaging Communities (University of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa), Working with Young People in Bristol and Mexico for Climate Action (Bristol University). 

Visual Minutes created by Creative Connection illustrate the breadth of the presentations and discussions amongst an international and interdisciplinary audience. This event fed into Bristol’s ongoing plans for the University’s strategy to address the climate emergency.
