The TESF team includes members of the Leadership Team, Advisory Group and Core Staff. We work from a diverse array of countries and collaborate and learn via our online digital workspace, the Network Plus Virtual Hub, where we regularly meet.
We are a GCRF funded Network Plus
Co-ordinated out of the University of Bristol, we work with partners in India, Rwanda, Somalia/Somaliland, South Africa, the United Kingdom and the Netherlands.
The Network Plus funding model is designed to bring together a wide range of UK research expertise with researchers and non-academic partners in low and middle income countries. It promotes challenge-led, multidisciplinary research, providing an agile response to problems facing low and middle income countries.
The model facilitates the development of partnership between academics, NGOs, policymakers and practitioners in both the Global North and South, allowing for integrated and crosscutting activities. They will be a source of robust evidence that informs debate and feeds into policy and practice.
The Global Challenges Research Fund (GCRF) forms part of the UK Government’s Official Development Assistance (ODA) commitment and is overseen by the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS).
Introducing our partners
How we are managed and governed
The Leadership Team provides an overall academic vision for the network. They play a leading role in designing and contributing to capacity development and stakeholder engagement activities, developing funding calls, contributing to the review of funding applications, providing ongoing support and mentoring to early career researchers involved in research funded through the network, contributing to background papers, national and synthesis reports and to impact.
The Advisory Group provides strategic advice, support and challenge to the Leadership Team in relation to the overall objectives of the network. Their work involves providing feedback on key documents, including the Call for Proposals and project reports, as well as providing access to additional interdisciplinary and methodological expertise.
Together, the Leadership Team and Advisory Group bring together a world-leading, interdisciplinary team of researchers and practitioners who have complementary disciplinary, methodological as well as country-specific expertise.
